Dr. Buren grew up in Mason City, Iowa. After receiving his Bachelors Degree at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, he completed his
medical studies at Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He was named to the Pi
Delta National Honor Society and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree.
Upon Graduation, Dr. Buren then completed a three year advanced surgical residency at Yale - New Haven Hospital in New Haven,
Connecticut. His residency focused on medicine and surgery of the foot and ankle, with emphasis on reconstructive rear-foot and
ankle surgery as well as diabetic limb salvage. During his final year of surgical residency, he had the distinction of being
appointed chief resident of his program at Yale. Following his training, he work in orthopaedic private practice in Tacoma, WA.
Dr. Buren is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both foot surgery as well as reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Buren is committed to treating podiatric medical conditions of the foot and ankle including: Bunions, hammertoes, neuroma, heel pain, foot
and ankle injuries, diabetic foot conditions, ingrown toenails, and sports medicine. He is dedicated to learning the latest advances in medicine.
He integrates quality of care with communication and compassion. His goal is to work with his patients to provide the highest quality of foot and
ankle care.
Dr. Buren and his family live in Blaine. He enjoys spending much of his time with his wife and two boys exploring the outdoors,
hiking, camping, sailing and fishing.
